Dugi Otok (Long Island)

From Zadar we moved offshore to another island – Dugi Otok (Long Island). This time the ferry was a walk on type – no cars. About 1 hour 20 minutes passed while we drank a beer, watched the calm water and islands go by.

At the village of Sali on Dugi Otok the owner of the Air Bnb apartment we had reserved came to pick us up at the port – it was easier than trying to explain which way to go. The apartment was 150 steps up the hill with a few smooth sections along the way – not bad. The house is painted purple so it is rather easy to spot if you are close!

In the afternoon we went down and ate lunch by the port.

Then we hiked out and climbed Mt Bratwurst – the highest point in the area. We need to point out that Russ renamed the mountain as he had no idea how to pronounce the real name which is Bercastac (hat over the first c) and it really was only a hill of 199 meters. Made a nice short jaunt.
