Trail to the Ice Cave

Today we again started at Black Lake on the same trail as yesterday. Upon passing the lakes today's trail split off and started uphill - maintaining a steep gradient the next couple of hours.

The woods are beautiful and brilliant green – seems there is enough rain to keep everything growing through the summer. Eventually we were high enough to have a great view back over Zabljak.

We were lucky in that the weather forecast was quite wrong and we had sun most of the day – just a few clouds passing at times but no rain.

There were great views of the mountains all around and many other hikers headed up the hill – including one guy running with his dog leading the way.

The section we completed was  13 km round trip with a total elevation gain of 760 meters and we completed in 6 and a half hours including coffee and lunch breaks.

The trails we have seen here have been well marked and easy to follow – even if you can’t read the signs.
