In the morning, after making some
shopping we went to the beach. Water was cold but very pleasant.
In the afternoon we were looking around the area to see where the park entry was and to check if our plans for tomorrow are OK. The people at the park entry were quite friendly and helpful. All set to visit the cave.
Later we drove around the hills behind
Starigrad to find a location mentioned in some article. One block off the
highway the road street begins to climb and continues – only the grade varies
between steep and steeper. The drive provided beautiful views of the hills and
the bay. Everything is quite dry here on the coast but amazingly some plants
are in bloom. They are adapted to the climate and thrive.
Starigrad-Paklenica is a vacation village
on the Adriatic Sea but small enough not to get too noisy or crowdy. You see
cars from all over Europe (we seem to be the only Turks though) with Germany
having the highest representation. As in Turkey, the first foreign language
offered is German.
