On the paper the distance from Lake Kerkini to our next stop Prokletije National Park in Montenegro was 480 km and we thought we could make it in 8 hours. However it turned out to be a 14 hours travel day with an additional 300 km.
We crossed into Mecadonia from Greece with ease then things started to go downhill.
It started with a detour because of an accident and we couldn't get on the free way for long ways. Then when we got to Kosova there was very much road construction and most particularly around Piristina there was an immense trafic jam. Besides, it wasn't easy to find the right roads because there are almost no road signs. So we lost time looking for the turn to Serbia border. Going to Montenegro this route cut across southern tip of Serbia just 26 km. At the border Serbian immigrations turned us around because we were entering from Kosova which they don't recognize. We had to go back to Kosova and cross to Montenegro from Kosova. Then headed to our lodge near Prokletije National Park. Found the place with great diffuculty well after midnight and it was closed.
So back to the nearest town got a room in the city hotel and slept.
